Bioenergetics is a highly interdisciplinary field, and it has traditionally combined knowledge and techniques from chemistry, physics, and biology to physiology and medicine to understand how biological systems capture and transduce energy.
EBEC2026 will follow this tradition and cover a wide range of topics, from fundamental mechanistic principles of biological energy conversion to evolution and mitochondrial physiology in health and disease. The topics are discussed from atomic to whole organism levels, combining exciting recent scientific and methodological developments in the field.
EBEC is the largest bioenergetics conference in the field, with an expected attendance of over 600 participants for the 2026 meeting in Stockholm. We have planned for 100 scientific talks including invited and plenary talks from leading scientists, and contributed talks from both young and established researchers. The scientific program will also feature several poster sessions and industry contributions, allowing for all participants to engage in fruitful discussions and communicate their recent advances.
The meeting will be held at Aulan Magna Hall at Stockholm University with the focus on in-person networking — the exhibition is the hub of the conference, and the conference hall is directly connected to the exhibition area.
All coffee breaks and lunches during the meeting are integrated into the exhibition to maximize opportunities for exhibitors to meet participants.
MKON handles all questions and administration regarding sponsorships and exhibitions.
